After spending almost a year doing an internship in the Caribbean, I was finding it difficult to adjust to living back in the cold North of England! I didn’t want to be so far away from friends and family, so I sought a sunnier lifestyle in Spain, where I worked as a British Council Language and Culture Assistant.
At the age of 31, I came to Lisbon seeking some respite from Seville’s unbearably hot weather in the summer of 2014. It was only supposed to be a holiday, however, over six years later, I’m still here and still in love with this city and its surroundings. I teach English as well as working on an AI for a tech company providing software to the UK car industry.
I love travel and culture which lead me to live in Spain, France and Australia. I have also travelled in the USA, India and a number of European countries. Portugal is the right country for me and I would highly recommend it if you’re looking for a temperate climate, affordable living and a more relaxed lifestyle with good food and wine.
I’m often exploring Lisbon and its surroundings and have also been to a number of places in Portugal which gives me an overview of the country in general. If you’re not sure if Lisbon or Portugal would be the right fit for you, I am here to share my thoughts and experiences and assist you with any practicalities.
