Would prefer to rent a furnished apartment, but I'm seeing a lot of student furniture online so thinking about options... thanks!

I went to the ikea.pt web site, scrolled down to deliveries, copied and pasted the answer to my favorite translation site--DeepL.com--- This is what the site said in English-------

Delivery via CTT

We deliver your order via CTT, on a date of your choice and a selection of items.*
Deliveries from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.

*Due to the current situation, we have made some changes to our order delivery process via CTT. Please confirm delivery via CTT at checkout.

Delivery via courier

You can receive your IKEA order at home, on the day and time window of your choice. There are no weight restrictions for your delivery order and the cost varies depending on the area your postal code belongs to and not the total value of the order. You can choose from several delivery options that best suit your needs.

We are introducing a new delivery option, "curbside delivery", at a lower price than the home delivery option. When you choose "curbside delivery", your items, weighing up to 100kg, will be delivered outside your home or building.

This service is available Monday through Saturday.

It is not possible to contract the Assembly Service with the curbside delivery option or the premium delivery option.

Hope this helps. @peggyL-- living in the Algarve since 2017

@peggyl Thank you Peggy -- and for the translation website too.  So as long as there's a way... we've never been to Portugal and are cautious by nature anyway, so we want to hedge our bets for a year before we fully commit to move.  I suspect we'll arrive, take a look around, and have a decision made within the first week, but for now just want to give ourselves a little wiggle room.

Really appreciate your response and witty comments on the daily shows.  Best regards, KK

Hello,

Yes, Ikea delivers all over Portugal.

Coimbra is zone 3.

https://www.ikea.com/pt/pt/customer-service/services/delivery/

price for transport is 99€.

Only for transport, assembly is another price.

@anavieira Ana, thank you so much for the info! That is great news.  We'd like to rent a furnished apartment, but I'm seeing a lot of "student" furniture in the rental ads in Coimbra.  So we're thinking of options.  Sincere thanks.
