Ask Our Expats

This feature enables members to connect on a one-to-one basis with a local English speaker who can offer personal knowledge about life in Portugal, information on their region and share their lifestyle experience. The Ask Our Expats team are hand selected and we will be adding more people as we go. Some of these members are Portuguese, others are expats who have lived here a long time or just recently moved.

You can view more details and book a consultation via this link: https://expatsportugal.com/ask-our-expats-portugal/

If any members are interested to join the Ask Our Expats team, please send me a PM or email to this link: @expatsportugal.com">ask@expatsportugal.com

Hi Gary

Is there a list of translators on the website, I've searched but can't find anyone.

Many thanks

Hi All.  I'm looking to make contact with any expats in and around Constancia, Central Portugal.  Like many others, my hopes of buying a property have been thwarted since Covid reared its ugly head but I'm staying positive and hoping that I may be able to visit Portugal again this year in May or September.  I'd really like to make contact with any expats who would like to share their knowledge and experience of living in and around the Constancia area.  Many thanks.  Elsza.

Hi, Are there forums on this site that help people connect in specific areas?  We are interested in the Coimbra area and intend to book a cooking class / restaurant tour with Frank while there next spring.  How best to plug into the local Expat community?  Must confess we're not huge FB fans!  Thank you for the info

@kkcwalton Great comments/questions. I find it hard not being a facebook, it seems that's the only place people hang out! It would be okay in normal circumstances because I would use groups, socials and things like meet-up. But with the restrictions you're very much excluded if you don't use Facebook.

@luise  Thank you Luise.  I can manage FB if I HAVE to, but definitely not my favorite platform.  Good to know it's the best platform to connect with the local community though.  Appreciate your response.  Best wishes

@luise Hi Luise. Karin here from London.

Regarding the Facebook group. If I am not wrong it is a public group. Would you mind confirming, please? I would rather prefer it would a private group, I have enough reasons to think this way. Don't get anybody get me wrong but in the social network, there is a lot of crap (excuse me for my language).

Good & positive vibes.

Karin

@luise Please let me know when the group is established.  I don't see the Profile section Carl mentioned so any instructions on how to locate the group is appreciated.  Thank you for setting this up.
