This update just came through about new lockdown restrictions in the Lisbon area. Sadly this affects me and I was so enjoying the freedom we started to have again.

And with school holidays (3 months) starting today, how on earth and I going to keep the kids entertained? Suggestions?

This is BAD reporting!!

Where do you live in the Greater Lisbon Area?

The most severe restrictions apply only to 19 Freguesias.

In the rest of the AML there are restrictions but not as serious. Certainly it appears one can move about & meet in groups of up to 10 in those areas.

Please see the attached chart from Observador.pt

@barlaventoexpert I live near Queluz/Belas (Sintra) so sadly in the red zone on your report. So yes these restrictions are on me as mentioned in my post 🙁

It's not good for anyone living along the IC19! Let's hope it's not for to long.

I do wish though that the Portugal Resident & Algarve Daily news would fact verify the content of their articles.

It has appeared to me, for years, that their correspondents really do not comprehend Portuguese very well, nor the structure or Govt. nor Society and that their English editing skills are not great.

Both journal have more of a feel of English Tabloid provinicial papers than reporting on a country with global influence.

That's why I prefer to mainly follow the Portuguese media.

@barlaventoexpert hahaha... I thought you were giving me a hard time for putting the post up... now I understand you were commenting on the actual article and not that I lived in one of the areas most affected by these new restrictions.

So which Portuguese media channel do you prefer?

No! Sorry not intending to give you a hard time.

I tend to prefer the following media -

National -

https://www.lusa.pt/

https://www.rtp.pt/noticias/

https://www.jn.pt/ultimas.html

I also keep an eye on the right-wing on-line paper observador.pt. Useful for headlines but subscription-based and increasingly podcast. (which is a pain!)

Algarve

https://www.sulinformacao.pt/

Government

I also get a daily feed from the Diario da Republica, the Government Gazette which out lines all legislation, regulations, etc be issued daily by the Government, local Govt. & other agencies.

https://dre.pt

I also when necessary check a whole range of publications on-line.
