Hi there!

Has anyone taken over their television from UK to Portugal and has it worked or had problems? I bought a new telly just in the last few months and it has all the apps etc on it, so tempted to take it with me, but not sure if it would be compatible with Portuguese systems. If anyone has any feedback, would welcome hearing other people's thoughts.

Thanks!

The TV will work fine, not sure about the apps though as the TV I brought over was a dumb one.

@old-bloke Yeah TV works great, but apps not so great because they don't work outside UK. I do get my apps to work through the MEO box though!

Hi, if its a Smart TV and the connection is through the internet there is no technical show stoppers.  One thing though is if you use something like Netflix, you will get Netflix Portugal and not the UK, assuming Netflix is available in both countries. HTH.

Hi, I would not worry about the apps for update or access.  I mentioned Netflix because I used Netflix in Canada and the USA and I don't get the same content.  Netflix has the financial means and technology to check this.  Something like BritBox maybe not.  The VPN will most likely not work very well for Netflix but it might for BritBox.  I used Britbox in Canada but I never tried from the USA so can't say if that will work or not.

The Smart TV uses Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable to connect to a box that connects to the Internet provider and all these things uses international standards so I would go and smack your tv maker if it does not 🙂
