"Today’s Council of Ministers has had to bite the bullet and face Portugal’s worsening virus-situation.

Greater Lisbon is back in weekend lockdown.

From 3pm tomorrow, there will be no authorised movement in or out of the capital until 6am on Monday.

Whether this elicits an exodus of vehicles tonight and tomorrow morning remains to be seen."

Nooooo, say it isn't so.  Hoping things improve significantly in the short term.  Trip to PT currently scheduled for mid-September.

@livinginusa September is years away in COVID terms! So much could change, for better or worse... Fingers crossed for you!

Just read the article in Publico and there is a line that specifically says it does not apply to international travel. However, everything is subject to change.

@ralfDon't know if you are planning on being in Lisbon or elsewhere or which Sunday you are arriving but if it were me I would contact the airline you are flying for more specifics.

@zoom the stated aim of the new Greater Lisbon weekend restrictions is to reduce the likelihood of needing to reimpose lockdown elsewhere. Whether or not it works is anybody's guess, of course...

@ralf in principle that should be fine. Arrive Sunday, and then as/when you need/want to leave the Greater Lisbon area (see map above), try to do so between Monday morning to Friday lunchtime. Ditto returning, unless going straight to the airport, in which case you'll be fine at any time, with proof of your flight.

Right now, there has not been any other level of new restrictions imposed in Lisbon (compared with recently).
