lifting Equipment – Moving to Portugal – Expats Portugal Forum

Welcome to the Expats Portugal forum!

Since 2005, this forum has had over 6,000 people sign up and take part in our community.

It is a place for people who want to move to Portugal and for those already living here to meet and share knowledge through our community.

With the recent revamp of the site, we have chosen to keep the forum on the website rather than create a social media group as we know there are people concerned about privacy and who owns their data. Plus there is a wealth of information from the years gone by that we did not want to lose.

But this forum is nothing without your input. So come on in, take a look around, ask questions and answer a few.

Hello, I am a newbie to this site having newly registered,
I have a problem and hoping for advise.
My household goods and stuff will be arriving at our new home in Pedrogão Grande, in the district of Leiria, Central Portugal this week, to assist I need a forklift with or without a driver for a days work or some sort of lifting implement able to lift pallets of the back of a articulated truck.
So if anyone knows companies that hire these sort of machine out to the public or if some one knows of some one who could help.
We would be so grateful for some help.
Thank you.

First thought is that the truck will have its own equipment in order to offload. If for any reason you need to move pallets to a different location, try your nearest fruit farmer - they have fork lifts to move large pallets of pears and apples.

We had the same problem. We asked our new neighbours who directed us to the local brick works (now closed unfortunately). Solved in minutes. 😉
The main problem was to find a fork lift truck that is road legal.
