Hello Everyone,

In the GMP this morning (or was it yesterday?) people were trying to get linked in MeRise app for additional learning motivation.

I created a group in MemRise (in browser, app does not show groupes on phone)

here is the link to the group (i hope this works)
https://app.memrise.com/group/474253/

I have already added all the available European Portuguese courses to the group.

Let me know if this works for you to join the group.

If not send me a personal message (PM) with your MemRise username then i can invite you within MemRise.

cheers

Matty

@healthy_move_portugal  Thanks Leif and I will be signing up tomorrow and would love to connect!  Easier to learn a language with accountability!

Thanks Matty,  I joined Memrise and the group, but I am finding the learning way too slow for meaningful progress.  Anybody else experiencing this or is my particular website faulty?

@dann not sure i understand what you mean. With memrise i can selfpace the progress through the 7 European Portuguese courses. The app/website let you set a daily target of 5, 15 or 30 minutes, but you can of course do more each day.
For me the app is a good base before moving to portugal. I do not believe you can get perfect in Portuguese with just this app. I will probably go to a course or training with a local teacher after i moved to get the dots on the i and the cross on the t.
For me the memrise app is like a game that teaches me a bit og portugeese and i can trepeat everything as often i like or need to remember it.

@healthy_move_portugal Thanks Healthy.  I've just discovered the different levels of learning.  See my reply to Susan below.  Now I feel like sticking with it and can get going at a faster pace.

@dann  I am not sure if you know but on Memrise there are 3 different learning levels and you can choose which one you want.  I choose the middle level and can spend wayward of 2 hours a day.

@susan-marie Oh thanks Susan!  I thought I had to complete 1 before going on to two.  I see now I can go all the way to 5 and accelerate my progress.
