This was a tough one. Our friends have exactly one whole day in Lisbon this Friday and wanted us to show them around. The travel sites mention you need two days to include Sintra and after doing a couple of trips to Sintra we decided to give it a shot in one day. We came up with the attached itinerary which includes links to the specific videos so they could modify the itinerary as they saw fit.

This reminds of the 1960's film, "If it's Tuesday, it must be be Belgium"!!
This itinerary is complete lunacy!!
If you aren't going to have enough time in a destination be selective about what you want to see!

@barlaventoexpert Heck, I haven't even finished the bar hopping itinerary after dinner. When they get back to the US next week and their friends ask did you visit Pena Palace, did you visit Cascais, did you see the Belem Tower and Monument of Discoveries, what about Praca do Comercio, Rossio Square, Restaurados and Chiado. They say "Yes".
How long were you there? 24 hours!
We have already documented the itinerary ourselves in sections, so we based it on our Apple health app and our YouTube videos.
@barlaventoexpert The japanese would visit all that plus Museu de Marinha, CCB, Pasteis de Belém and Museu dos Coches in the same day... 🤣 🤣 🤣

We survived and it was epic!! It was actually the most single day of fun we have had in Portugal. The only change is we took the Elevado Da Gloria to the Miradouro. Our friends thought that was fun and surely it fixes the climb issue.
The weather was perfect. Sitting at the Beach club in Cascais drinking away the 4 miles of walking at Pena was amazing. Short sleeve shirts and plenty of sun while glaring at the Ocean was priceless.
We had dinner at Lumi Rooftop Bar & Restaurant. It was perfect outside, and the service and food were a highlight. The view was amazing.
We finished the night with a walk to Praça Luís de Camões so they could see the lights we documented https://youtu.be/PbvMXeG5Nfo in this video.
This was the last night of the Holiday lights.
Our friends tapped out at 10:30pm after 7.5 miles of walking with some major elevation changes at Pena. Maybe the Sangria in Cascais or the bottles of wine at dinner hastened that.
