I will arrive in Lisbon August 17 and stay for 2 days. Then I will head to Coimbra and stay there for a month or so. I have a child and I assume 4-6 suitcases (I know it seems absurd) but we dont have to abide by a timetable and can travel as long as we like.
With much luggage, what's a good way to travel between Lisbon and Coimbra?
Can someone recommend a driver? I dont want to drive this early in my trip. Do you think this will be super costly and just to make things clear, what do you estimate the cost to be?
Thank you for your time and assistance.
I would suggest taking the train, a taxi would cost somewhere around €200.
It may be too late to book, but you might contact Trafa Tours (Nuno Miranda Alves) via Facebook. People speak quite highly of him.
Here is Nuno's phone number: +351 965 079 434; his email is trafatours@gmail.com. If you are on Facebook, you can connect with Nuno at nuno.alves.3998.
Gas is indeed much more expensive than in the US. I've seen prices around 1.5 Euro/liter = $7.20/gallon plus motorway tolls are equally higher than many places in the US.
I'm not sure if it is important to you, but Nuno seems like more than a driver. He will offer you "tour guide" type of service along the way.
