Hi there, yet another question. 😀 Â
Just wondering, anyone ever had any dry stone walling done and if so, can you give me a ballpark of what it costs, say per metre? I am thinking of the type of walling seen in the Algarve but would be interested to get a rough idea from anywhere in the coutntry.

I had a stone retaining wall built with the large stones in Loule area
3.5 meters tall at highest point.
Cost was 90 Euros per square meter all in.
This was about 7 years ago.

@manny thanks George, good to have a rough idea. I contacted a garden landscaper who does stonewalling and it seems like how long is a piece of string. There were loads of questions to consider, such as if it was on a slope, whether the rocks were there already, whether it needed a concrete core and so on. Â
I called 2 local contractors ( earth movers), I'm sure the garden centers will just sub it out anyway. They were both same price.When dealing with heavy stone it all boils down to access. How easily they can get the equipment, trucking, and materials as close to the location as possible. Asking the locals for a referral is a good option. Where are you needing the work done?
