OK, so this is a trivial and rather weird question but, how do Portuguese and/or expats submit their electric/water/gas readings if they are on vacation/holiday during the period for submissions? I'm assuming not every person in Portugal has a family member that stays behind to do so.
I would imagine they don't and the utility company would just estimate it. They could then either provide an accurate reading on their return or just wait till the next due reading whereby it would even itself out.
That's what I thought. If you saw my estimate for this month though you would wonder how they arrived at it?
Submit your reading between the 23rd and 25th of July . The invoice forecast is €1,961.46 with an estimated 22 days
lol...are you running a bitcoin mining operation out of your bedroom 🤣
If your not there then you could always make up your own estimate, and as before it would even out at next reading.
Smart meters for electrickery are being rolled out throughout the country. Prior to getting one I just used to accept I was going to get an estimated reading for that period, never had one as high as you've got. The worst I had was for nearly twice my usual bill, the following bill (bi-monthly) after I submitted readings was for 47 cents.
I'm not on mains gas or water so don't get bills for them.
