I will be flying into Portugal [porto] fro the UK on 16th october for a 12day stay with my wife and two grand children 9yrs & 4yrs. We have both had the two covid vacines in the UK According to uk gov website we only need our covid vacine travel pass documentation and no covid test. Is this correct.

Hi Tod, I think that's right. I checked for us from the U.S. on our consulate website, and it says full vaccination is sufficient with an E.U. approved vaccine. I'd check your UK consulate website to be certain, though.
I'm pretty confident that being able to show proof of full vaccination is sufficient, but you can also check with your air carrier. They'll also be able to to tell you.

My first post as I am interested in this too - I believe this has changed on the UKGOV website on the 8th - can anyone confirm they were able to enter Portugal with just proof of vaccination, please? I cannot see this detailed anywhere on the Portuguese gov website although our airline also says this.
Before you travel to mainland Portugal
If you have an NHS COVID Pass or an EU digital COVID vaccination certificate showing you have been fully vaccinated with an EU approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before you travel, or an EU COVID recovery certificate showing you have recovered from COVID-19 no less than 11 days and no more than 180 days of when you are due to travel:
- you do not need to have a COVID-19 test to enter Portugal. Be prepared to show a digital or paper copy of your COVID vaccination or recovery certificate when you check-in for your flight, and
- complete an online passenger locator card
