I thought I´d put this info. on in case anyone else was wondering about these
new meters. A few months ago EDP installed ours and at the time I thought the
man said "automatic" - meaning they didn´t need to read them anymore.
However, since then they have either called to read it or sent a letter asking me
to read it and send the figure on line. Yesterday a nice lad came to read it and he
spoke better English than my Portuguese (not difficult!!). So I asked him about the
"automatic". "Ah yes. They are automatic - except Tomar hasn´t got the
equipment to read them yet"!
He then went on to say in a year´s time they might have it - or "maybe longer"
he added. Now there is a surprise! So in the meantime we carry on having
to read it. So now you know!
