I am a UK national with residency. My wife is from Philippines and has UK residency. We both had Portuguese residency. I have been resident for the past 20-years and my wife for the past 5. My residency has been renewed this year because it could be done online. My wife's expired January 2021 and she has to apply in person in Portugal as that cant be done online.
Due to Covid restrictions we were unable to get to Portugal to renew. Currently we are in UK and now she is told that she can no longer enter Portugal and we had planned to fly in on September 11th. If she cant enter then how can she reapply for residency. Its not our fault that Covid and flight restrictions meant we were unable to be in Portugal.
I emailed SEF several times and tried to call them over the past 6 months or so but that was a waste of time as they never responded in any way. Does anyone have any advice on how to overcome this problem?
