Hello.

We would be grateful for any advice please. We are a couple + one dog. We are looking to rent a house (a simple one, no luxury villa) for 6-12 month in Castelo Branco & Fundao region while we look to buy land in this area. Would anyone be able to suggest a suitable letting agent or do you know any owner for rental house?

Thank you for you time.

Have you checked the usual websites (Imovirtual.com and Idealista.pt)? And from there go with a real estate agent.

But maybe some of our members from that area can chip in.

We thought we would share this excellent tutorial on how to use idealista.pt.

Interesting you choose Castelo Branco.  I am intrigued by the region myself.  I put an offer in on a T5 in city center.  1 full year deposit plus first and last months rent.  Direct to agent.  The owner was not interested. He said “locals only”.  It was not even down to Portuguese or Foreigner.  This is the challenge with the interior. It is all about who you know and are you local.  Even the agents have better access being local. I know of a place in Mação that is reasonable and can be your temporary scouting hub.  45 minutes to Castelo Branco. If you are adventurous it will allow you to plant some roots in the area and build connections.  It all comes down to that.
