@jonesdn2020 We were looking at the silver coast. Heard the weather there is not as hot as the Algarve but also not as cold as northern Portugal. Not sure if this is correct?

@momo1336Β

We are actively working on questions like that on these forums. We initially were headed to Lagos but ended up in Lisbon on a fluke. We spent a week in Lagos this past April and had a great time.Β

When we got home to Lisbon we decided the Algarve was going to be a little warm for our liking. We had just spent 18 months in one of the hottest locations in the US where temperatures get to 124 fahrenheit in the summer.

We did a trip to Porto and came back down the Silver Coast in July. The weather in Porto was warmer then we anticipated. Our stay in Nazare was warm one day and marine layer the next but the wind was a little strong on the first day. We retired from Huntington Beach, CA so we are not fans of the wind.

When we got home to Lisbon we felt like we were home again. We are planning another trip to Porto next month and figuring out what other locations to include so we can experience the weather at different times of the year.

We will continue to travel the country every couple of months for another year before making any permanent move. Lisbon has been the perfect location for us to use as a base to explore the country.

Welcomeeeee!! We’ve heard great things about the Silver Coast. It’s on our list of to-do’s when we hopefully relocate to Portugal. Let us know how your journey goes! Β
