Hi Ian & Sue, congrats, bet that November seems years away but, it'll rush by 👍

I've looked for Graca, can only find a suburb of Lisbon 😳

@christopherdouglas, oh I am sure the time will fly by -  we have lots to do before that - its actually Altardo Graca, not the one in Lisbon 🙂

@iant1960, ahh, THAT Grasa 😃

wondered how you bought that much land in Lisbon 😳

We looked at that area during one of our viewing trips in 2015. Nice area 👍

all the best for the move,

Chris n Hellen

Hopefully the virus does not screw up your November arrival in Altardo. As it is on a ridge of sorts we have been trying to think what property comes with 7,500sq.m there (just curious as we have some land over the road to the north; sold to us by an Altardo chap) Best ....

Congratulations, how exciting. We've just started the process of buying a lovely house just outside of Cartaxo with around 25,000 sq mtrs of land (eek!) and hoping to move at the end of October. Would be interested to hear how your purchase has gone if you're happy to share?

Hi Deborah, more than happy to share the process as things happen, the vendors have signed the promissory contract, we have agreed a date for completion, ( late September) and hoping to move in early November ( we are away in USA for most of Sept and Oct.

Hi @iant1960, can you let me know how long it took you between the offer being agreed and signing the promisory note please?

@wosiebeegs, it took just 7 days, we made the offer and had it accepted on the Thursday, saw a solicitor on the Friday and got the promissory contract from her within 5 days - agreed it - and it was signed the next day

@iant1960 wow, that was quick. Hope ours doesn't take much longer than that. Thanks for letting me know. Did you get a survey done or any searches?

Cartão eh?

Lovely, the river Tagus is wonderful along that stretch. Perfect for a nice boat for leisurely trips up & down the river 👍

Ah, sorry, no. 25,000 sq mtrs of land 😳

You won't have time to go boating 😄😄😄

But, welcome to Portugal anyway 👍J

Hi

Congratulations My concern is to my own story, i had a high top transit and a twin wheel box trailer ok sounds good. After packing everything in i found i still had stuff left that i needed. When the sale went through i turned up at my house and started to unload everything. Turns out my favourite leather chair was still in the UK. After the unpacking a few months later i had come across so much i didn't need or want my house had a great washing machine that is still going strong after 9 years. I brought a washing machine with me that i didn't need i had loads i didn't need but i didn't have my favourite chair.

My advice would be before you pack make sure you leave the stuff you would never need in the UK bring what's important. In my case i just gave away or sold all my stuff i didn't need.

Oh i should say not being a gardener i gave my land away not huge but someone else now has to tend to it.

Peter

Congratulations @iant1960 and @wosiebeegs

With all that land we might need to pre-warn the gardening centres to stock up 🙂 🙂 🙂
