Hi,

My wife and I would like to move to Portugal with our daughter (12) we have everything in place but are a little confused with which way to apply for our D7 visa, should we apply for D7 visa in just my name at one appointment in London or do we apply in 3 separate applications/appts? If I applied individually and was accepted would family reunification kick in straight away so that we can all go to Portugal together?

I believe family reunification is requested only after you arrive in Portugal, so I guess the best way is for you to apply as a family. But don't take my word for it, search for posts in this forum and watch the Youtube videos with the experts.

The best strategy is based on your revenue streams and possible other criteria. Ei! had each of us apply for our D7 individually with separate appointments right after the others. VFS did take both of our applications and bundle them together for forwarding to the consulate.

Thank you for your replies!

We're still unsure of the best way to apply, varied opinions, I don't see anywhere on the visa application where you can add your spouse and childs details. Would I be their sponsor?

@vision-portugal-dream Not sure about spinsers since we both applied for the D7 independently. I would check the migration tuesdays with Gilda from Ei!
