Be certain to check payment methods available BEFORE your consulate appointment in San Francisco!
I called 4 times and was told all are paid by money orders, all are paid by credit card, one fee could be paid by money order and others by credit card (you get the idea).
As of today, the $106.64 fee made our to the Consulate General of Portugal most be paid via money order. The VFS Global fee of $45.98 and the mandatory courier fee of $35.00 can just be put on a credit card.
As an addendum, WAY.com is a good app for pre-paid parking. Parking is extremely expensive in San Francisco.....and most want $20 to $30 for enough time to get to your appt and back to your car. I got 23 hours of parking for $9.50 about 6 blocks away on the app (enough extra time to go to Chinatown and do a bit of shopping with hours to spare).
Verify, verify....things change
