I am really excited for the meetup! It felt like I was cursed in arriving to Portugal, but we are here now!! I think I will dress in bubble wrap the day of the meetup just to be careful I arrive in one piece.

@ralf As you can see, we have gone under...constantly spending time searching for the elusive 1 year rental lease from our couch/laptop in the US...2+ months at it, partly for budgeting to pay average rate, instead of inflated rate and need to pay 1 year in advance...not going to do that. Most want a "guarantor" don't have that. As soon as we get a lease, we'll get to DC to apply, then wait....maybe see y'all in late Spring at this point 🤪. Vila Nova de Gaia, Espinho, Aveiro, Caldas....any tips from anyone on a clean, comfortable place, please consider informing us.

@alleycat Hi Allie! Well, it has been a difficult few months. I have had to fly back and forth between Alaska and PT many times, due to a parent end of life situation. It has been rough in many ways, but I hope we can now start to get settled in.
Keep my posted on your situation. If you want me to look for you up North, would be happy to help in any way I can.

The end of our streak is upon us, sadly! We plan to get some traveling in during this off season, soon as my passport renewal arrives at the consulate.
We are planning out the Canary Islands, Azores, Madeira, Porto Santo, and Marrakesh in the next couple of months. Then we can rest a bit before my mother comes and we do Ireland and Scotland in May.
We have been scouting Lisbon for unique meetup locations and we have found a few. We are looking towards the end of April to kick off the 2023 Lisbon meetup series with a unique location for each.
@jonesdn2020 no worries...you gonna be up for Lunch or Dinner on March 20th? Be next to Oriente Station with my Sister and ex that day.
@misticjeff Yes, we have the Roger Waters concert on March 17th so we will be home.
