Hi

We are considering having our pool re-grouted to smarten it up for summer. Could anyone please advise if its an expensive process of having the pool emptied so we can work on it, then have it filled again.

Any advice welcomed - Thank You

The emptying and refilling should be something you can do yourself. The cost will depend on how your local council charges for water usage. Re-filling the pool is obviously straight forward, using hoses. Emptying can be more tricky. The backwash will get a reasonable amount out. After that, if you happen to have a lower level on your land (below pool level) you can empty it using a siphon system. Otherwise you will need to hire a pump. It shouldn't cost that much to do.
(Note: all of the above based on experience of Australian systems).

Water is the expensive part. Calculate how much you need and get a price from your supplier. Some let you pay in several instalments as. Also speak to the. Bombeiros they will fill it for you too. Prices depend on where you are.

Sounds like an expensive job so may have a rethink on that one!!

Even though our mains water would cost around 350-400€ to refill (pool is somewhere around 75-90 cubic metres), I've been quoted multiples of that for replacement of the limestone roman steps and re-grouting with decent grout.
