Registering an agricultural building

With the help of a surveyor I have obtained a pre 1951 certificate for a house and barn on an urban plot. However the barn is not mentioned in the title deeds. How do I go about legalising/registering the building and could it be used as habitation?

I would speak to the câmara municipal - both elements are likely to require their involvement, and it may be possible to wrap up the licensing for the barn at the same time.  However, they may reasonably want to legalise the structure as-is, and then consider the residential licensing once the building is in a relevant condition (and depending on whether they feel it's appropriate).  In any event, speak to them as the first step.  It's likely to be helpful to have any relevant evidence of how long it's existed, its condition, etc; as well as your plans for how you'd use it residentially-speaking (perhaps downplaying any changes you may wish to make, without actually misrepresenting things).

@thomasribatejo thank you. My eventual aim is to split the plot but this is pointless until the barn is registered and licensed. We have already restored the barn to its original state, no changes have been made to its footprint etc.

OK - I wouldn't mention that with the câmara, and when you get to that stage, you'd need to work with an appropriately experienced lawyer.  It may be worth identifying them early on, to be sure the splitting seems feasible to them.
