Cancelling Direct Debit

After our battle with PT, cancelling contracts, cancelling (I thought) the direct debits, returning the equipment, complaining to Anacom etc, they are still taking money from our BPI account.

My wife's just been to BPI and they're telling her that we can't cancel the direct debit, and then PT can continue to take money if we owe them (??), and that we have 8 weeks to claim this back.

This surely cannot be right can it?

I can't find anywhere in the BPI online banking where I can see a list of Direct Debits or how to limit or cancel them.

Any help appreciated. Thanks, Nick

Nearly 2 years ago we cancelled PT (and Sapo) as service so terrible.
Things must have changed because our BPI bank cancelled the d.d. without any problem.
PT did then try and send me a huge bill for a meo internet stick I had returned to them months before as they had "mis-sold" it (and I'd luckily kept the receipt when they refunded me!). Still, it took a "slanging match" on the phone and me threatening to contact a lawyer before they backed down and send a sort-of-apology letter.

Keep trying for your refund - or the b.........s have won! :x
