Hi, does this webinar involve residency? If so, how do I find it please? Can't see a link for it. Perhaps I've just totally missed it!

Many thanks.

Hello, does anyone know how long our house rental contract has to be to qualify for applying for residency? Anything over 3 months, or it has to be 12 months, or? (from UK).

@itexpert7  There is no specified duration, different Camaras seem to operate to different requirements.  Some Camaras in the Lisbon area have been known to accept Airbnb and hotel receipts as proof of residence.

Thank you so much, some estate agent just scared me saying most people want 12 month contracts to apply for residency (Algarve).

@itexpert7  That would be the same Algarve where some Camaras have been issuing residency certificates to people living in campervans on camp sites.

We did not have to show any rental or ownership paperwork. We had a postal box at the post office and I made it a point to go inside and speak to the employees there knowing that someday I would need help with something. When we needed an "atestado" to our residency, I asked at the desk which also functioned as the secretary to the "Junta". She handed an application to my husband & I, we filled it out. She said to come back tomorrow and the next day we picked up the beautifully embossed letterhead atestado of residency with the proper signatures and off we went.

We are very interested in obtaining a Sponsorship Letter as having to secure a 1 year lease before we even arrive in Portugal is onerous. How do we do this?
