Hoping someone can help with identifying the pertinence of certain items on the card. These are the ones I do not understand or lack clarification on.

On the front the upper right has an alpha numeric sequence of 9 characters that it is then repeated on the left-hand side of the card. The lower right has a numeric sequence of 6 characters.

On the back at the top in remarks it says, " Allows the exercise of professional activities".

The bottom has IRPRT followed by the sequence on the front upper right but has an additional number<<<<<<<.

Below that is 15 alpha numeric characters followed by USA<<<<<<2

Thanks for the help!

Just some guesses.

Your PT resident's number?

" Allows the exercise of professional activities".

Allows you to work/run a business in PT?

No idea, but IR is the abbreviation often used for the Institute of Notaries, and PRT for Portugal.

Does the alphanumeric have any correlation to your US passport number?

@old-bloke

Appreciate the help!

I only have a partial answer to the last one. The 15 alpha numeric characters corresponds as follows: birth year, birth month, birth date, "M" maybe marital status, Permit expiration year, expiration month, expiration day, and a final numeral of 7 that I have no clue about. Maybe a D7 process identification?

@jonesdn2020 "M" might be for "Masculino" (male). If in your wife's card, in the same position, you find a "F", for "Feminino" (female), then should be it.

@blaze451 Yes, thank you.

Confirms @old-bloke responses for those outstanding items. Nice to know our permit numbers are in the upper-right. They are very random between ours. I guess that is how they make them unique.
