Eastern Algarve: What grows and produces best?

Hi Folks,

Which Fruit, Nuts and Vegetables grow and produce best in the Eastern Algarve?

The ones that are there already that you can identify as you drive around. For most of the coastal plain the soil is good and folks have experimented with things like kiwi fruit, with success.

Most things will grow here unless, like parsnips, beet or carrots they need frost. Latest trend being of course production of cannabinoids.

If you are considering introducing a new variety then the biggest consideration has to be how you provide water. Ministry of Agriculture (Patacão on the west side of Faro) are an amazing go-to resource - they know most things there and will offer support and advice.
