Hello good people. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice as to the best route to take on this trip. I want to avoid the tolls if possible, but, catch 22, would like to get there as quickly as possible. Are there any expensive tolls to avoid and which ones do not make that much of a difference to the driving time (etc. etc)?

Have you considered the ferries from Spain to south coast of England?????, It cuts out a lot of road miles and overnight stops in France ------ you could get to Santander in a day then a night on ferry then to your destination in UK, probably no extra paid overnight stops or road tolls, ( if you avoid the PT one's)
