OK, strange one this, but hope there will be a boffin out there who can help me.
One of our vehicles has failed its Inspection. I am being told teh reason is because the rear side windows and teh rear window itself has the tinted film over them(its a 9 seater people carrier).
They have told me that if it was a commercial vehicle and didnt have seats in teh back then I would be ok. The question I want answered is why is it illigal and a test fail? I have never been pulled by the police for it and there are plenty of newish vehicles driving around with tinted out windows, so does this mean they all need new windows before their next inspection? I think not.
Would love it if anbody could pull up some documentation to help my case as I am beginning to feel a bit peeved by these guys. Is the 2nd time its failed. They said it was my misunderstanding that has led to a second fail. I failed 1st time because I was told I had a crack on the windscreen. I had this fixed only to be told that isnt waht they meant and they were really meaning the tinted film had to be removed.
If you cant help then thanks for listening
