A major financial services provider is conducting telephone research and Expats Portugal is helping to recruit British expats to take part in this.

Each qualifying participant will receive a payment of €150 which they may keep or choose to donate to a charity.

The aim of the research is to test the attractiveness of a new investment product designed to meet the needs of British expatriates living in Portugal.

Participants will simply need to read a couple of short documents and then discuss their views in two telephone interviews both of which will take about 20 minutes.

To take part in the research you must be a British expat living in Portugal who has existing investment(s) or who might invest a lump sum in future (outside of your pension).

Please note that this is confidential research about a potential new product launch. We can guarantee that there will be no sales pitch or sales follow-up and no questions will be asked about your own finances.

Expats Portugal Rocks!

We are here to sing the praises of Expats Portugal, as we couldn’t have completed the arduous process of moving from the US to Portugal without this sterling group! Gerry, Carl, and the team, along with their business associates—Ei!, Winsurance, and GIR—have been absolutely wonderful in helping us navigate the pitfalls of an international relocation. And we would be remiss if we didn’t shout out the very kind expats who are on the Forum, always willing to help with our questions. As well, we would also like to thank the Premium Plus group members and especially Susan and Leif for their great kindnesses.

Our relocation process has taken roughly a year and a half, and we are soon to embark on our final flight across the Atlantic to our new home! We had many surprises and challenges along the way, but we felt in very good hands with Expats Portugal and Ei!. Always.

Gerry has been incredibly supportive and continually hands on, and Ei! has been extremely helpful—especially regarding our D7 and SEF processes, and finally, getting our NHR approval. A special thanks to Ei!’s Filipa, Constanca, Claudia, Beatriz, and Ana who assisted us.

Great People and a Great Resource.

We became ‘Community’ members at the end of last year, and found the site to be extremely friendly and helpful. Our move to Portugal is likely to happen in the first half of 2024, so we upgraded to the ‘Premium’ membership to give us full access to all of the benefits that Expats Portugal has to offer.

Shortly after joining, we received a lovely welcome email from Gerry and the Dream Team, who explained the benefits of Premium membership and an invite to a ‘face to face’ meeting with one of the team.

Soon after we met Gerry, who is a great guy and so enthusiastic in the way he introduced himself, the dream Team and the wider the Expats community. He immediately made us feel at home and was easily able to address our immediate concerns. Our time together was all too brief, however by the time we finished, we felt like we were old friends.

Shortly after our meeting we received an email from Gerry summarising everything, along with a commitment from him to introduce us to the people that could assist us with our move. Those introduction emails were sent thereafter.

If you are serious about a move to Portugal, I would highly recommend becoming a Premium member of this great community.

We had all the resources we needed to get the job done thanks to ExP. We had countless friends before we even set foot in the country because of this wonderful service and these wonderful human beings.

About 18 month ago my wife suggested we move to Portugal to which I said I would investigate the process. I found Expats Portugal and immediately signed us up. From that point on, the process has been so easy (as moving to another country can be). I must commend, Cristina Amaral formerly of Ei and her team in getting us prepared for the VFS Global meeting. I also want to thank Millennium Bank for bringing us up to speed on banking in Portugal, Rodolfo Pellicano of Reis & Pellicano Law firm for his no cost advise and referral to various other resources and Nuno Munoz Broker for Winsurance who not only assisted us with the required travel insurance but also consulted on home, automobile, pet and medical policies.

We also appreciate the other resources such Travel, car rental and real estate information.

We handled the entire process from the comforts of our California residence albeit at 2am- 6am PST!

Most important is the comradery that we have received being members. Its worth every dollar/Euro paid for membership. Great website, well stocked with helpful information.
